return to Me

return to Me: What if God hates religion? I finally finished something that I started and am so excited to share what God has placed on my heart to write. It has been quite the journey but well worth every step! I have learned how to depend on the Lord in ways I never knew I could. My prayer is that those of us that know Jesus as Lord will want to return to Him and re-dedicate our lives to Him and fully surrender all of us to Him. And for those who don't know Him yet, my prayer for you is that you will finish this book and know that you can't go on another day without Jesus being in your life.

OVERVIEW

What if God hates religion? So many of us have been programmed to think that we need to follow a certain ritual or that a certain church will make us get right with God. We have it all wrong. God doesn't want our religion and our good deeds without having our hearts. That's what He wants is our heart. He is a gentleman and He stands at the door of your heart waiting for you to invite Him into your life. He won't barge in, He waits to be invited in. God is not interested in what church you go to or if you go to church, He wants your heart! When you look around the church today what do you see? Is there room for a relationship with Jesus in the midst of the religion that we have created by following our rules and rituals? Are we still trying to earn grace? When I look around the church today I see a lot of Pharisees that are so caught up in their religion that they have forgotten about the relationship with their Savior. Jeremiah 24:7 I will give them hearts that recognize me as the Lord. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me wholeheartedly. The time has come that we return to God with our every day worship. The time has come for us to take up our cross and follow Jesus. The time has come for us to wave our white flag of surrender and allow God to be the Lord of our life.

JUST A GLIMPSE INSIDE THE BOOK

We tend to get caught up in the religious expectations that we have of each other and we need to take a look at the way that Jesus encountered people in sin. He was more interested in the care and transformation of the sinner than He was in the sin and the requirements of the law. We have become an organization that does things in the name of Jesus but we don’t act like Jesus. We have become empty religion. Jesus never called anyone to a religion only into a relationship with Him. We have created our own way to heaven. We think that the better we are the easier the way to heaven. We have made it about baptism, confirmation, church attendance, how we worship on Sundays and acts of service. We get into the comparison game of how we are serving the Lord versus how he/she serves the Lord. We are all different. He has us exactly the way He wants us. God just wants our hearts and to come to Him just as we are. We are broken people in need of a Savior to save us from whatever it is that we struggle with.
